Jeez, I’m burning the midnight oil tonight. Am giving a talk at WiAOC 2007: Webheads in Action Online Convergence and I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew! So if your keen to hear me struggle through a difficult talk.. tune in..
- Here’s my slides
- Here’s my article (Still a work in progress actually)…
I’ll be talking to these slides at 12 noon NZ time (12 Midnight GMT) via EdTech (I think – though that link is to Webheads.. maybe they’re the same these days?…). As much as I respect Webheads and EdTech for all the great stuff they do, I find their websites quite difficult to get around in. I think if you go by the schedule you should be OK.

Not that I want to be the grammar police but you’re missing an apostrophe on the word Polytechnic’s. I know that you offered me support and advice last year when I was doing my Blogging presentation, so by offering my proofreading capabilities it’s a small token of thanks. I’m looking forward to the presentation – as for biting off more than you can chew, I reckon that you’ll nail it and pushing the boundaries is where you want to be.

Ah, thanks G. I reckon there’s bound to be a million spelling and grammar errors! This has been a very last minute effort without much proof reading at all… So thanks, I’ll fix that one up when I’m at work tomorrow before the talk.

I am totally lost with the site(s), too, and not sure at all if I’ll find the right place in right time. I’ll try.

Hey Leigh,
The paper has really come along nicely and all the best with your presentation.
There are a few factual errors in the paper. You are also opening yourself to justifiable critique due to the fact that you have conflated the notions of intent with usage of resources.
I’ve posted my feedback over here

you have some good ideas weaved throughout the paper Leigh. I really liked the examples you used in your keynote of real teaching situations. your presentation got a bit bogged down in the copyright and re-usability issues at the start and then relaxed into the social networking ideas, which was good.
In the same way the article would benefit from putting the less controversial stuff at the start.

[…] Friday, July 27th, 2007 in wikieducator, wikiversity, copyright, censorship I finally made it up to Dave Wiley in my terribly over crowded news reader… only to be let down by him I found a volley of blogged considerations and thoughts going on over at Dave’s blog (all these links so far) about the very same issues with Share Alike restrictions that I attempted to raise with the same network more than 2 months ago.
