I am seriously reconsidering everything I do and think after this. I must keep love in mind, heart and hand while I fend off the overwhelming fear that much of this movie brings to me..
This is a long movie, and one that I recomend you download rather than stream. You better be comfortable, warm and secure when you watch it, and have time to spend with yourself and then loved ones afterwards.

Thanks Sparker for the pointer. I dunno what to think – in search of the truth…

I guess the best one can do is remain informed and share our understanding. What I want is to know will I be affected as an Australian citizen, friends and family need not live in fear, not worth it for anybody apart from those who want us to be afraid and uneducated…here are three links:
Letter from a citizen appealing the provisions of the Australian anti terrorism bill

Australian anti terrorism law

Note – The shoot to kill part
The Aged.com.au – Supporting terrorists now a ‘thought crime’

What we can do now is become educated, research, discuss and filter the future terrorism noise, gain understanding of what freedoms we must protect from our own educated and informed moral compasses…talk about it.

I watched this the night before last. I chatted with my husband about it just after I watched it, and then again yesterday. I feel grief. I also feel some sense of relief that comes from having an eye opening observation – even if it is disruptive.

Hi Janet, I also feel grief. Grief compounded by a common reaction in my peer groups that are overly skeptical of “conspiracy theories”. They rightly say – “check the facts”, but without checking them themselves, they then go on to say, “you will find it is misleading, emotive and one sided”. I find that so belittling. Belittling of me and my abilities to be at least as critical and ‘objective as they are, but more than that, belittling of the movie. Facts aside, the movie is a remarkable artifact. Even it is nothing but nialist agitational propaganda (which I don’t think it intends to be), then it is an excellent example of that. Something to spark inquirey learning with at least

It’s interesting to see the variety of opinions and chatter expressed at digg after watching the movie

In my mind very notable and diggable for the public reaction alone.

So my brother and I feud about this all the time at about beer #5: he’s convinced of the world government plot, and I really haven’t seen anything that would shift the burden of proof. And ultimately I think it’s a distraction.
Part of the problem is what do you do? We’re in primary season in New Hampshire, and I co-run the state’s biggest political blog as a hobby — I go to these events, and invariably there is someone shouting at the candidate (whether Hillary or Obama or Dodd etc.) about when will they admit 9/11 was staged… I’ve read PNAC, I’ve read the radio transcripts from the fire CBs, the pull building #7 stuff, etc., and there’s really nothing there. So the question is, in pragmatic terms, what difference would it make if it were true — I mean, what would you do differently, politically. Because there’s not a strong enough case that you are going to mobilize a movement anyway — I mean, I don’t buy it, but the thing I find interesting is if we could get away from having to swallow either explanation wholesale, we’d find that people that don’t buy it and people that do have a lot of common ground.
That is to say, we don’t need to know whether it is true or not to do the right things. We know that we have to move away from global trade agreements and back to bilateralism. The US needs to stop pushing subsidized corn into Mexico (which has killed the living of 1 million farmers there) and we have to stop letting people circumvent US labor law by putting factories south of the border. We have to reduce the military’s size, and get out of the countries we are in.
We need to stop freaking out over threats that are substantially less than we endured during the Cold War. We have to deal with the oil issue. We need to remake our Israel policy. We’ve got to do away with the pork-barrel scam that is corn ethanol. We have to kill Real ID.
The problem is I watch that video, and I see factual errors — the RFID in the passports have to stop, for example, but the range on them is very slight, a foot or two, and they can be circumvented completely by wrapping the passport in a single layer of tin foil.
So the five beer conversation with my brother always comes down to the fact that the conspiracy element is a distraction — and when I go to those canadiate events, I wish the people shouting 9/11 conspiracy stuff would shout what candidate Mike Gravel did at the Democratic debates: “Who are we afraid of? We’re the most powerful nation in the world — who are we afraid of?”
Because that question has some resonance for everybody, whereas the world government stuff is tenuous and divisive.
Of course, then my brother tells me I’m full of crap, and then I have to kick his butt at pool, but that’s another story.

Great comment Mike. You are right to point out the detail, that this movie helps to distract us from. But then again, for some, this movie is a kind of manifesto that motivates the desire (at least) to find the detail of “what we can do now”. It motivates me to want to listen to the likes of your list, and find something that I can do now…
The latest movie/agitational propaganda that I’ve watched and that I think is better than Zeitgeist is Robert Newmans History of Oil.. in which a comedian talks us through a more global politic – one that looks at the UK’s historical efforts in Iraq and other places. Its a crack up, very funny, but very serious at the same time. It also articulates a theory as to why the US needs to be so afraid.. something to do with OPEC moving the currency for oil trade from US$ to Euro.. causing an massive deflation in the worth of the US, sparking the need for war… dunno myself, but am looking out for the detail on that one too.

Mike Gravel, a candidate for President here who is running at 1% (and who is so approachable I have his personal cell number and have called him up directly to chat) says the Dollar to Euro bit is legit, and is documented, and was a contributing factor to the war. He talks like a crazy guy, but in general I haven’t found him to be factually wrong yet, so I’d trust his judgement.
Unfortunately he doesn’t have a chance, so I’ll probably end up voting for Dodd, who is the best of the viable options. But you should check out http://www.gravel2008.us/ so that you know that we’re not all idiots out here — the main problem, as you noted over on my blog, is our country is just too big š

I just need to know what to do…who do we go to with information? is there ppl out there trying to show that what has happened is happening for someones agenda or are we just screwed?? we’ve almost always known that JFK was assassinated via the Mob through the CIA but still without the proof?? do we gotta wait around till more higher ups come forward or is there a media out there that will put this into the masses faces…cuz we seemed screwed….I wanna help. I mean showing everyone this movie gets us where?? Im in canada…I love it here…doesnt mean its any better…everyone just seems to shrug it all off…so do we leave it till the last second and then it becomes a movie where rebels fight against the united world government or what the ….how does Truth..science…Facts…not play into everything thats been shown…im trying not to swear cuz its habit…but this is so frustrating…

Try not to let these things frustrate you to point of no action J. My thinking is to use this video as an idea, a concept to guide my own investigation. Point for point I will keep an eye out for claims and counter claims, all helping me to shape my directions. At the moment I am focusing on my self. I am learning to grow my own food. At the moment this is simply therapeutic, it is a kind of zen that gets you in touch with the seasons, the soil, the growing cycles and all that. It is very grounding. I am also slowly trying to ween myself away from the mainstream market and economy. We are working at cutting out our credit cards, and other debt, We buy local, try to make friends with local producers, bought a small 2nd hand car and are in the process of selling our big van, and we live on a tight budget. Some would say we are volunteering to reduce our living standard.. but actually life is slowly becoming more and more simple, and our skills and confidence at doing things for ourselves is going up.

people shrugging it off.. I know what you mean. They will pay big money to go and watch a box office story from another time, another fantasy, but won’t even give this a view, if only for its entertainment value.
If your friends need a movie with more street cred, then you can’t get better than Adam Curtis’ docos for the BBC. They are long, but excellent. Start with Century of the Self (3 parts) and then The Trap (3 parts). All are on Google Video, and the Wikipedia entry for Adam Curtis points to other work.
Hunting, that’s something I’d like to get into here in NZ. Meat is so expensive, and yet there is a seeming abundance of farming pests and introduced animals in the wild that Parks need to manage. I hope to meet a hunter down here soon..
